1. Today is the fifth Sunday of Lent, we are reminded through the reading that Christian discipleship is a call to selfless service. We are called to let go of, to relinquish, to let die, anything that keeps us from greater freedom to follow Jesus.
2. Every Year in the season of Lent the Archdiocese calls on the faithful to contribute to the Lenten Alms. This collection goes to St Pius X College, Goregaon – the Archdiocesan Seminary of Bombay and goes towards the formation of Priests. You must have received envelopes through your Community Leaders. Please put your contributions and drop them in the box kept in the Church. If you wish to give a cheque you may do so in the name of the Archdiocese of Bombay.
3. The next Stations of the Cross in English will conducted by Zone 6 on the 22nd of March.
4. We have introduced the concept of the giving box. The idea is that our sacrifice and fasting should benefit others. The box placed near the altar is meant to remind us that we are called to reach out to those in need. Your contribution placed in this box will be matched by the church and in the Easter season we will have the second round of the feeding project as done earlier during the World Day of the Poor. For convenience, we have put a QR code on the box for those who want to make an electronic transfer. Please indicate the cause in your transactions.
5. Next Sunday 24th March is Palm Sunday, the masses are as follows: 7 am Mass in English. 8:15 am Blessing of the Palms at the Grotto followed by a procession to the Church and then at 8:30 am Mass in English, 10 am Mass in English and 6 pm Mass in English.
6. After the Evening Mass on Palm Sunday we are having a special Lenten mission which includes music, prayer, reflections and a live tableau. We invite all parishioners to attend and be part of this mission. Priests from Outside Parishes are available for Confession.
7. The Diocesan Youth Centre is organising Camps for youth who have completed their SSC, HSC and Degree College students in April. Details of the Camps and how to register are on the Notice Board. Please avail yourself of these opportunities.
