1. The readings of the 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time guide us to appreciate marriage, value family, and follow Jesus’ teachings. They remind us to live with unity, respect, and commitment in our relationships. Today is also celebrated and Thanksgiving Sunday in our Archdiocese. We thank the lord for the blessing we have received.
2. We enter the month of October which is traditionally the month of the Rosary. The Holy Rosary will be Prayed every day in the Church at 6:30 pm followed by the mass. We will offer the Rosary for the ongoing Synod
3. We have begun our Parish Novenas in honour of Our Lady of the Rosary. The theme chosen this year is Journeying with Mary towards a Synodal Church. We invite you all to be part of our preparations as we strive to grow as a loving caring church. On Sunday the Novena mass is at 10 am and during the week the Novena mass is at 7 pm.
4. As a part of our preparation for our Parish feast we are having a night vigil before the Blessed Sacrament praying for the needs of our Parish community. This is on Friday 11th October after the Novena Mass from 8 pm to midnight. Each community has been given a 30-minute time slot to animate the prayer. We encourage you to come join us in prayer. From 8 to 8:30 will be animated by Zone 6, 8:30 to 9 pm animated by Zone 5, 9 to 9:30 will be animated by Zone 4, From 9:30 to 10 pm animated by Zone 3, from 10 to 10:30 will be animated by Zone 2 and 10:30 to 11 pm animated by Zone 1. From 11 to 12 the holy hour will be animated by the Priest and Sisters of the Parish. We invite all of you to join in prayer, in thanksgiving for the blessings received and place before Jesus the needs and petitions of our Parish.
5. As a part of our celebrations we are having a biblical quiz on the gospel of Mark as well as trivia questions on the Rosary and the history of our Parish. This will be on Saturday 12th October after the 8 pm mass in the undercroft. Each zone bas been requested to put up a team. There will be attractive prices for the participants and the audience. Please do come and encourage your community.
6. Sunday 13th October is our Parish Feast. There will be only 2 masses on Sunday the 13th. The first Mass is at 7:30 in Konkani and the feast mass is at 9:30 am. Bishop Dominic Savio Fernandes will celebrate the feast mass. After the feast mass, we invite you to enjoy the band and a piece of cake. In the evening we would like to begin our festivities by invoking the blessings our Patron and Mother; Our lady of the Most holy Rosary. We assemble in the Church at 6 pm and pray the Rosary.
7. The Bombay Sabha awards will be given in the undercroft from 6:30 to 7 pm and this will be followed by the Parish Social which will start at 7 pm.
8. We have begun the preparations for the Jubilee year 2025. To offer direction and guidance to the faithful in the Archdiocese of Bombay, informative videos illustrating the Constitutions of Vatican II will be played on some Sundays after the announcements Today after the announcements we will screen the Video on Lumen Gentium the “Light of the Nations.”
